Banana Yogurt and Honey Smoothie

Smoothies are one of the best ways to cram a whole ton of fruits and veggies (yes VEGETABLES!) into one meal that will keep your tummy full and you full of energy for a long time. They are also easy to take with you on the go!

With winter almost here we need to make sure our immune systems are ready for the beating they take from cold and flu viruses swirling around our schools, work places and homes. Adding a smoothie to your routine is an awesome way to add more vitamins and minerals to your diet in one quick drink.

There are a million variations of smoothies you can make so start experimenting!! It's fun to see what combinations taste good together!!

This Banana, Yogurt and Honey smoothie my most favourite smoothie eeeevvveerrr to make in the mornings for breakfast! It's simple with only a few ingredients (you can add extra fruit like strawberries, mangos, kiwi) and takes only a few minutes to make.

Note: I have added spinach to this (that is why it is green =) ), it can be made without it and it tastes EXACTLY the same. Yes, that is right, the spinach does not just add a cool colour but provides amazing health benefits, without the spinach taste - PROMISE! Add it in and I guarantee you will not taste one note of spinach. Give it a try!

You will need:

1 Banana - frozen or not (never throw bananas out - put them in the freezer for smoothies and baking!!)
1/2 cup yogurt (I used strawberry yogurt this time but usually use plain)
1 tsp honey
3 ice cubes (if you used frozen banana you can skip the ice cubes!)
1/2 cup spinach
1 Tbsp ground flax seeds (optional)

Put all the ingredients in a blender and whiz it up for a minute or until everything is incorporated and smooth.

Pour it in a glass and drink it down!!

Mmm.. can't even taste the spinach, RIGHT?! :)

ENJOY!
